Girlschool — британская рок-группа, исполняющая музыку в стиле NWOBHM. Одна из родоначальников рок-групп, участницами которой являются только женщины. Группа была сформирована под названием Painted Lady, когда её участницы ещё учились в школе. Girlschool за свою карьеру добилась относительно небольшого коммерческого успеха, но проложила дорогу для других «чисто женских» рок-групп. Несмотря на частые изменения состава, Ким МакОлифф и Денис Дюфорт остаются в группе по сей день. Frequently associated with contemporaries Motörhead, they are the longest-running all-female rock band, still active after more than 40 years. Formed from a school band called Painted Lady, Girlschool enjoyed strong media exposure and commercial success in the UK in the early 1980s with three albums of "punk-tinged metal" and a few singles, but lost their momentum in the following years. more
